This course will teach you all the fundamentals you need to know about freediving. We will, for example, go through proper breathing techniques, safety skills, mental techniques, finning techniques, and equalisation. If you have been diving for a while, it is also an awesome way to receive feedback and improvement on what you are currently doing.
The are 3 parts to the course
The knowledge development consists of eLearning that will introduce many of the key concepts of freediving through an easy to use online platform. this needs to be completed prior to attending the course. We also run a class session as an introduction to the weekend that will reinforce and broaden many of the concepts you learn online as well as take you through breathing and equalising techniques.
In the pool session we put what we've learned into practice. We go over static apneas (breath holds), dynamic apneas (breath hold swims), and rescue techniques while tweaking your overall dive skills.
In the Sea sessions, we head out to the sea for what it's all about and dive the line. Free immersion (pulling down), constant weight (finning down), and correct buddying and rescue techniques.
Goals for the full freediver certification are: Complete the knowledge development portion of the course, Pool 90 sec static apnea, 25m dynamic apnea, Sea 10 Dynamic apnea, and rescue techniques. If you meet the knowledge and pool requirements but not the sea you still can certify as PADI basic freediver.
The course cost is $499 with a $250 dollar deposit securing your spot. Once the deposit has been paid you will get your eLearning sent out. If you need to rent gear for the course there is an additional $50 fee which will be discounted from any freedive gear you choose to purchase over the weekend.
