Join Paragon Dive Group?s Ben Lair on an adventure through Poland and Slovakia where we will be diving 3 very unique and off the beaten path mines including; the Maria Concordia Mine, the Podgorze Uranium Mine, and an Opal mine in Slovakia!

This is a very unique trip that will see us transiting almost 1000 miles through Hungary, Czechia, Poland, and Slovakia! The scenery is incredible and the food and people are amazing. We will be off the beaten path but this is a trip of a lifetime!

The diving and site access is demanding so you need to be on top of your game. The water temp ranges from 45-50F at the Polish Mines and 39-40F at the Opal Mine in Slovakia. To access the Maria Concordia mine you are lowered over 100' down into the mine shaft to dress on a platfrom. The Opal Mine requires you to carry your gear into the mine. These are exploration type dives and not your normal just show up and dive tourist type dives. However, the diving is incredible and the effort is more than worth it! Our team spent several weeks in early 2024 exploring multiple options to make sure you get the most out of your trip.

Here is the trip plan (subject to change based on things out of our control)

2/2 - Arrive To Budapest - Most flights from the US arrive later in the afternoon/evening.
2/3 - Tour of Budapest with a local guide and a chance to recover from travel.
2/4 - Drive from Budapest to Sobotka which takes roughly 6-8 hours. Get checked into our small hotel at a local wineship and enjoy some food!
2/5 - 1 Long Dive at the Maria Concordia Mine. Length to be determined based on group requests but between 2-4 hours. After diving we will drive to Kowary and check into our next hotel which is a converted Polish Palace. This hotel is super cool!
2/6 - 1 Long Dive at the Uranium Mine. Length to be determined based on group requests but 2-4 hours. Another night at the palace.
2/7 - 1 Long Dive at the Uranium Mine. Length to be determined based on group requests but 2-4 hours. Another night at the palace.
2/8 - Drive to the Slovak Opal mine which is roughly 6-8 hours. Get checked into the lodging provided at the dive site.
2/9 - 1 Long Dive at the Opal Mine. Length to be determined based on group requests 90 minutes - 2 hours. Another night sleeping at the mine.
2/10 - 1 Long Dive at the Opal Mine. Length to be determined based on group requests 90 minutes - 2 hours. After diving drive to Budapest and arrive at your chosen hotel. (Not included in the trip cost. Lots of airport hotel options.)
2/11 - Depart from Budapest or on to your next adventure!

This trip is limited to only 3 divers and all divers must be Full Cave CCR divers and have ample cave experience and experience on their CCR.

Included:

• Most lodging (all but final night). All lodging will be single occupancy so you will have your own room except for the the Slovak Opal mine which will be double occupancy.

Note:

• Divers must have at a minimum of Full Cave CCR certification for this trip. If you will be completing the deeper dive to 60M or 100M you must have the appropriate certification card a physician's medical form, dive accident insurance. You must bring copies of all of this to the dive site for our first day of diving or you will not be able to dive.
